MINDFUL SELF COMPASSION (MSC)
Orientation x 1 hour, 6 sessions x 1.5 hour
The essence of Mindful Self Compassion is being with ourselves in kinder, gentler ways. Self-compassion involves responding with support and understanding, as you would with a good friend, when you have a difficult time, fail, or notice something you don’t like about yourself.
Mindfulness, common humanity and self kindness are the core elements of this empirically grounded training program developed by Kristen Neff and Christopher Germer. Sessions include presentations, guided meditations, experiential exercises, discussions, reflections, and home practices. The Mindful Self Compassion Workbook is recommended but not a required resource. The workbook will be followed during the program.
