MINDFULNESS BASED COGNITIVE THERAPY (MBCT)
*Referral Only: Family physician, Nurse Practitioner, EMC FHT Mental Health Counsellor
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy is designed to support relapse prevention with people who experience episodes of depression, anxiety and emotional distress. It combines the ideas of cognitive therapy with mindfulness meditation practices. The approach focuses on becoming acquainted with the modes of the mind that often characterize mood disorders, while simultaneously learning to develop a new relationship to them. The Mindful Way Workbook is recommended but not a required resource. The workbook will be followed during the program.
